Description

Arkansas Dressage Icon Donna Love passed away peacefully at her home at Quitman on February 2nd, 2025.
Anyone who knew Donna knew two things: she had a heart as big as the midnight sky and she was a champion of souls. Those souls may have walked on feet, paws or hooves. She taught countless kids to ride and her students were for many years the life blood of ADS shows. This she did not for money but pure love of the souls and horses she tended. Her living room was often a make shift camp cabin for weekend kids. Sometimes the couch was bed to folks who just needed a helping hand and Donna’s was always outstretched.
The dogs, cats, horses and humans she tended are uncountable and in the hundreds. She never gave a second thought to hauling her kids and her horses to shows. It may have been here in Arkansas, or to Colorado.
Donna was diagnosed with Progressive Degenerative Aphasia in 2019 and so her story began it’s ending. Many of her students were very successful competitors and all have grown up with a genuine and undying gratitude to this lady who devoted so much of her self, her soul, her life to them, to this sport and to any and all who needed her gift of Love.
