ADS Meeting Minutes

2.  President Report

1. Clinics/Educational events – Clinics/educational events for 2023. Three activities: Saddle Fitting Educational Clinic, Zoom meeting with Kristi Wysocki about 2023 tests, and Riding clinic with Ashley Shawn have been completed. Pasture Management clinic, “Got Grass” is scheduled for August 26, with articles in Horseman’s Roundup and flyers available to post in area businesses. TL suggested that we look at getting Ashley Shaw for another clinic early next year.
   1. Update from TL Jumper – hosting ADS meetings with ADS members. Meeting completed on Feb 11 at Chatfield Equestrian. Would another meeting be beneficial later in the year? TL agreed to plan another member meeting for January/February of 2024.
   1. Show dates for 2023 are set. Are venues and show managers set. April 30 show completed and June show rescheduled for September 17. Any open issues with shows? Joanne finalizing judge for October 1 show, need update from Carole about October 29 show. Joanne will look into hosting a clinic for scribes.  Jennifer provided everyone with the link to the USDF educational program for scribing that members can take any time on-line.  Potential to use this program in a group setting.
   1. Discuss plans/needs for year-end banquet for spring of 2024. Consider having the year-end awards at the first show of the season?  Not a popular idea. Should we poll members for preference, ideas? Joanne to look into vunues.
   1. The position of secretary is open.  Ideas for filling this position? None at this meeting. Position will remain open.

• Secretary Report
  • Meeting minutes – minutes from April meeting were approved, with motion made by TL and seconded by Joanne. Approved by acclimation.
  • Membership status – 62 members to-date

• Treasurer Report
  • Financial Report – General account has 13,548,.74; Junior account has 1143.23.
  • Completed the tax filing before April 15. Completed Secretary of State report for non-profit status in early July.  Added both to the annual business calendar.

• Webmaster Report
  • The ADS website hosting upgrade was completed and hosting has been paid for the year.

• Year-end awards banquet for Show year 2023.

• There were no board meetings in May and June 2023.
