FAQ
Q: I am entering more than 1 horse into the show. Do I need to pay the Grounds Fee and Office Fee for each horse?
A: You will need to submit an entry form for each horse you are entering in the show. You will also need to pay the Grounds Fee for each horse you are entering but the Office Fee only needs to be paid one time with your entry.
Q: I am signing up as a day member for the show. Do I qualify for year end awards?
A: No – day members do not qualify for any year end awards. Please join ADS with a yearly membership prior to scores being earned to qualify for year end awards. Please refer to our Year End Awards Criteria for more info.
Q: Can I bring my dog to the horse show?
A: No – due to details in our insurance policy, dogs are not allowed on show grounds.
Q: Can I volunteer at a show or ADS event?
A: YES! We would love for you to volunteer and feel free to contact the webmaster for more info: [email protected]
Q: Does ADS offer Para-Dressage tests at their schooling shows?
A: We are currently exploring adding this option into our shows. Please contact us and let us know you are interested in participating in these tests. Also include the following info: What grade or level is the rider? (We will need to see a copy of the rider’s USEF or FEI card showing their grade). Does the rider require any special accommodations? What show date are you interested in? Feel free to contact at [email protected]
Q: I am interested in joining the ADS Board of Directors. What should I do next?
A: We welcome anyone who has interest in these volunteer positions! We have a list of board positions and job duties here. ADS board positions are 2 year terms and positions are elected at the Year End Awards Banquet. If you are interested in joining the board, please contact a current board member for more info and what position you are interested in. Board meetings are on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. Location can vary on availability.
Q: Does ADS sell my information to a third party?
A: No – ADS does not sell or share our members’ information to a third party. It is shared with USDF in correlation to your GMO membership.
Q: Does ADS offer any USEF/USDF recognized dressage shows within the state of Arkansas?
A: Not at this time. ADS has sponsored USEF/USDF Recognized shows in the past; however, we have not sponsored one in about 8 years. Recognized shows require a location that can accommodate a show without potential for cancellation due to weather. The location would need to have a covered arena for the competition and warm-up, with adequate parking and stall facilities. In addition, the show location must be near hotels and restaurants to accommodate competitors from outside our area. Currently, there is not a location available to ADS to sponsor a recognized show that meets all of these criteria. Also, sponsoring a USEF/USDF recognized show is very costly for the organization and would only benefit a portion of our members. There are neighboring groups and states that do offer recognized shows and would not require a lot of travel time to attend. Please check our Events page for a dates for these shows.
