Member Spotlight: Zoey Brown

This month’s Member Spotlight features junior rider, Zoey Brown!  Zoey has been an ADS member for the last couple of years and can be showing and volunteering.  She was most recently our Intro Level Junior Champion for 2021.

Let’s get to know Zoey!

Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi, I’m Zoey Brown and I’m 15 years old. I’ve been around horses most of my life. I was given my first horse when I was 7 years old and still zb7own her to this day. I started out as a western rider, and I was recommended by a girl that went to Midland Farms to try them out. I fell in love with all of the horses and knew this was the right choice. I’ve been with Midland Farms since the end of 2016. I’ve realized that not only is dressage important, but there is so much to learn and enjoy!

Tell us about your horse(s).

Currently, I am riding Hercules a 13 year old Halflinger. Super sweet pony. I have helped him get back into work so I can teach myself and him new things. I have worked with him for the past year. There has been so much growth in both for us.

What are some of your goals as a rider?

My goal as a rider is to have more confidence, become stronger, and be a better rider. As for a year or so, I would like to attend more shows and clinics as well as later on down the road do a rated show.

zb3What is your favorite horse book or movie?

My favorite movie by far is Walk Ride Rodeo. My favorite book (I’m not a book reader though) is Horse Gone Silent.

What do you hope to see happen with ADS in the future for junior riders?

My hope for ADS junior riders is I would love to see more junior riders enter and for the junior riders to grow abundantly.
