ADS Meeting Minutes

November 14, 2019

  • Call To order: 7pm; Sandra Thompson, Alex du Celliee Muller, Kat Cromer, Vicki Lind, Jennifer Landers, Ashley Martin, Rene Pope, Joanne Homeyer, and Kerry Evans present

On 10/18/19, USDF announced increases to GMO dues for primary members from $20 to $24. Kerry motioned to make the following changes to member dues on 10/28/19. The board voted remotely (email or text message) in favor to increase ADS member dues to align with this increase. Individual membership increased from $48 to $54; Junior membership option was introduced at $44; and Family membership increased from $47 for the primary member and $19 for additional members to $54 for primary and $20 for additional members. The Sponsor membership ($15) was also discontinued.

  • President Report
    1. General membership issues and feedback
    2. ADS Member Committees for specific tasks: Open to add new project????
    3. Officers for 2020-22: President, Secretary, Web-Master, Two Members-at-large (Alex and Ashley). Need to start search and publicize openings.
    4. Complete a show schedule for 2020. Need to determine the number of shows and locations for 2020. Need to identify individual to contact judges for next year.
    5. Membership drive.
    6. Review of ADS by-laws for any changes.

  • Secretary Report
    1. Meeting minutes: Ashley motioned to approve October meeting minutes, Rene seconded
    2. Membership status: 5 members for 2020; Kerry will announce that everyone who joins by a certain date will be entered into a prize drawing at the March 7 Banquet
  • Treasurer Report
    1. Financial Report for 2018 needed and 1Q 2019.

Checking account: $9,512.04

Jr Rider account: $533.74

  • Vice President Report
    1. Review process for financial audit required per by-laws
  • Show Report –
    1. New venues for 2020? Ideas for 2020 show schedule?
    2. Other Issues?

-Alex and Kat to discuss lead line and other classes with trainers; they will develop lead line test for 2020

-Will also add walk/trot equitation for 2020

-Need show dates for June, Sept, and Oct (and locations)

  • Web Master Report
    1. Open for updates?
  • Old Business
    1. Banquet 2019:
      1. Date and location complete: Contract signed, payment made to Rusty Tractor Vineyards, date of March 7, 2020. Vicki is researching catering options, possibly food truck(s)
      2. Plan year-end award prizes early.
  • New Business
    1. Educational Program – 2020 – Can we get a couple of members to research this? Needed a proposal by August timeframe for a Q1 program. Still open for ideas for 2020.
