This month’s Member Spotlight features junior rider, Zoey Brown!  Zoey has been an ADS member for the last couple of years and can be showing and volunteering.  She was most recently our Intro Level Junior Champion for 2021. Let’s get to know Zoey! Tell us a little about yourself. Hi, I’m Zoey Brown and I’m 15 years old. I’ve been around horses most of my life. I was given my first horse when I was 7 years old and still own her to this day. I started out as a western rider, and I was recommended by a girl that went to Midland Farms to try them out. I fell in love with all of the horses and knew this was the right choice. I’ve been with Midland Farms since the end of 2016....

Member Spotlight: TL Jumper

Mar 3, 2022

This month’s Member Spotlight features amateur rider, TL Jumper!  TL has been an ADS member for several years and a faithful supporter and participant of ADS events. Let’s get to know TL! Tell us a little about yourself. I began riding hunters as a teenager and showed until my mid twenties (I have had a really hard time giving up the hunter perch).  For a number of years, I rode at home while working and raising my family. Then I discovered fox hunting and loved it. Jan 19, 2022

This month’s Member Spotlight features amateur rider, Erin Seelinger! Let’s get to know Erin! Tell us a little about yourself. Hi, I’m Erin and I’m 21 years old. I have always wanted to be around horses ever since I was little. I was given my first horse at 8 years old and have had them ever since. I attended Midland Farm summer camps as soon as I was able to and have stayed at Midland Farm/Top Shelf Dressage ever since I was 6 years old. I thought I wanted to ride western, but I followed this girl on Instagram named Lacey Jamieson.  I thought it was so cool that she jumped her horse 3’ with no hands, but when Lacey passed away, I decided to really give English style of riding a go and...

Eleanor McClain Wins Area V Beginner Novice Champion...

Oct 28, 2021

Congratulations to ADS member Eleanor McClain who is the Beginner Novice Champion for Area V! Eleanor McClain keeps her new horse, the 15-year-old Warmblood mare Abbigael, at her small barn and is solely responsible for her care, a fact that McClain believes has allowed her to know the gray mare in a much deeper way. “It was a difficult transition at first,” McClain said of her relationship with her new mount. “Month after month I worked, desperately trying to connect with her.” The pair has overcome a huge learning curve as they got to know one another, but despite some bumps in the road, McClain left each show with a positive mentality and asked herself, “What did I learn from that, and how can I fix it?” After all of the triumphs and tribulations,...
