January 11, 2018
Call To order 6:40 pm; Sandra, Kerry, Joanne, Nicola, Alexis, Alex, Jennifer, Kat, and Rene present
President Report
- General membership issues and feedback
- ADS Member Committees for specific tasks
- Establish committee for a Freestyle Clinic in 2018 – Jennifer update on potential clinician and format
- Possible clinician – Joan Darnell, “S” judge; option for a 1-day educational course or 2 days, second day with horses
- A USDF grant would only apply to a clinic after September 2018
- Board members will ask around about general interest
- Alexis will also look into clinicians for a Ride-a-Test clinic
- Committee to plan/execute Junior rider ADS Event. Joanne Homeyer and Kat Cromer. Committee to be established
- ADS Trailer – license plate, insurance and maintenance
- Review ADS Bylaws – finalize changes; post to ADS website

Show Report –

- Jennifer will set up PayPal for show entry fees
- Member to review Awards document for revisions before year-end banquet – status
- Selection of judges for 2018 – status
- Completion of show schedule to post to website in January – status
- Tentative show dates: April 15, June 3 (Ride-a-Test clinic?), July 29, Aug (rain date), Sep 16, Oct 14, Nov. 4
Web Master Report
- Results of the survey taken for input into show management, including any proposed fee increases.
Alex made motion to increase show fees, seconded by Alexis, passed unanimously: $15 increase ($5 office fee, $10 grounds fee)
- Old Business
- Banquet 2017:
- March 31 at Embassy Suites
- Need to post information about the banquet on website, etc. Can we make this a dual purpose – end of year awards/announcements and a BIG positive kick off to the 2018 Show Season? Can we do something different that would interest members, about the 2018 Show Season?
- Member committees for banquet prep:
- Awards – Alex
- Publicity – Jennifer/Kerry – Kerry will send a save-the-date email to all members about banquet
- Silent Auction – Alexis
- Decorations – Joanne
- Other? Should we add a 15 minute program? Is there anything that interests members so that their attendance is value added? Something short and interesting, a video perhaps?
- Board Member election for 2018-19: President, Secretary, Webmaster, Member-at-large (Alex) and Member-at-large (Nicola) – Post open positions; identify members interested; post board elections by March 1 or before. Two sentence bio for each board position? Jennifer will post board member openings on website/Facebook
